Elon Musk’s SpaceX is Well Set to Continue Its Dominance in Commercial Launch Market | NASA SPLICE
SpaceX is well set to continue its dominance in the commercial launch market as they have acquired at least two more commercial launch contracts. On September 17, Intelsat, a commercial satellite operator announced a $390 million contract to launch with six new satellites in 2022. The contract is divided in 4:2 ratio between SpaceX and its European competitor Arianespace. The satellite operator company has also considering SpaceX and Arianespace for the launch of a seventh communications satellite in 2023. Out of seven future satellites from Intelsat spacecraft, Maxar will build five with the remaining two to be built by Northrop Grumman.
NASA brought up a subject, called SPLICE, in their upcoming lunar mission. SPLICE stands for Safe and Precise Landing Integrated Capabilities Evolution, which is a precision landing system
